Captain Lou Abano was a legendary and charismatic manager who managed some of the most famous names in WWF history back in the day.For sure he will be sadly missed.
Not only was he a legendary manager, before that he was a heck of a wrestler (more of a brawler actually) who made his name known as a tag team specialist teaming with Tony Altimore as one half of the Sicilians, one of the most dominant tag teams during the early days of the WWWF.

Is the one who managed The British Bulldogs?
EDIT: Thanks, I'm a relatively new wrestling fan, meaning I haven't seen much of the older stuff before 2002, but my friend showed me a match with the Bulldogs vs. some other guys with Lou Albano as their manager.

I remember him best back in the 80's with Hogan and Cindy Lauper! I always liked his rubberbands.

He had been in poor health for some time. A forgotten figure in the Rock-n-Wrestling push by Vince....his music video appearance - and cross-promotion in pop culture - with Cyndi Lauper was as much vital to WWF as Hogan's title run(s). And though he had a tremendous history in the business, his "managing" of George Steele was a perfect match...and The (real) Animal said thanks by serenading his manager in the first LP the company released. RIP, Lou.

I remember him fondly as a manager, but I didn't realize he was a wrestler too.I'll have to check it out and see if I can find some of his matches. The one thing I really remember him for though doesn't have to do with wrestling at all. When I was younger,I remember watching him as"Mario"on the "Super Mario Bros.Show"in the afternoons when I got home from school, lol! The show wasn't on too long, but it was actually a pretty good show,lol.R.I.P. Captain Lou,we will miss you!
