Question:
What is better in your opinion about the following wwe royal rumble match question?
?
2011-01-09 07:11:34 UTC
Would you rather a already established or recently pushed wwe superstar to win the royal rumble which wouldn't be very shocking and be pretty predictable or would you want a mid carder like Drew who has all the credentials needed to main event but hasn't recieved that quick push, which pretty much gives the rumble winner result away before it even starts?
BQ. Is it popular on the net to predict already established main eventers or the usual suspects because its a safe thing to say?
Or do you think that WWE who is needing fresh main eventers for 2011 just won't ever do that?
(I know history goes against my point of asking this cos up till now, the winner is mostly expected to win, altho Chris Benoit is one example of an unexpected winner..

you raise an interesting topic. back in the day, it was always a midcarder that won the Rumble and got the main event push they needed. nowadays, there's ALWAYS an already established main eventer winning the Rumble to keep their spotlight going because they aren't willing to 'do business' and let the future of the WWE get the push they deserve. when Drew McIntyre came in the door and was billed as 'Mr. McMahon's Chosen One', I just knew he would be pushed to the main event in no time (and with no real wrestling skill), but I must say I was wrong. dude can actually wrestle and I'm surprised he isn't in the main event by now

BQ: the WWE has gotten so predictable over the years since the Attitude Era ended. I've been a fan for years, but I must say that watching nowadays almost makes you wonder WHY you're watching cause you already know what's gonna happen

I personally would rather see a surprise winner each year, somebody who ordinarily doesn't get World Title shots. Even though the Rumble itself is a very entertaining match we know the winner will be one of the very small handful of main eventers who always win these kinds of things, or a major star returning after a long absence.

The WWE has painted itself into a corner with the "reward" for winning the Rumble: a WWE or WHC Title match to co-main event Wrestlemania. The WWE just isn't going to give a Wrestlemania main event to somebody who doesn't already sell PPVs. So this limits the field of possible winners considerably, and makes the Rumble a bit predictable. We know one of the 6 or 7 main eventers will win, we just don't know which one.

They need to make the "reward" similar to the MITB winner: a guaranteed title match at any time up to next year's Rumble, rather than limit it to just Wrestlemania. This would open the field of possible winners considerably. Vince is much more likely to give an unproven (at selling PPVs) performer a world title match at any other PPV. With Wrestlemania he will use his proven stars.

BQ: The WWE needs new faces in the main events and both world title pictures. Most of us see that. But the problem is, when we actually get them most of us complain about it. "Doesn't deserve it" is a common complaint. "Didn't pay any dues" is another. Most of us don't see "tournaments" such as the Rumble as an opportunity for somebody, anybody, to put in an outstanding performance and get rewarded for it. Instead, we look for "hidden meanings" as to the "real" reason so-and-so won. And we just complain. That translates to Vince and the bean counters as "uh-oh, they're complaining about *insert wrestler's name*; we can't take a chance on giving him a Wrestlemania (or any PPV, really) main event and having that turn the fans off". So Vince goes with the usual suspects, the ones who continuously sell the PPVs. And that's who the fans pick to win "tournaments" and championships. Once in a while Vince will throw in a Sheamus or a Miz, but generally it's the same 6 - 7 main eventers we always see. We may complain about the "same old thing" (the usual suspects) but we keep buying the PPVs they are featured on.

I'd rather have an established wrestler win (specifically Christian). I'd want it to feel like the moment when Kane won Money in the Bank, a long overdue wrestler finally get his due.

BQ: The second option. WWE last year have really stressed on their need for new main eventers and I think that would most likely show in who they have win the Rumble. At the same time I say that, I also agree with the first option.

I would rather have a mid carder win, one that nobody would expect. Someone like Cody Rhodes, or someone in that line. WWE needs a new main event person as i am really tired of seeing the same people win big title matches over and over. They should throw someone in to win for shock value. Even someone like Tyler Reks, or even a low card wrestler to win the Royal Rumble.

We have seen esblished stars win the Royal Rumble every year since 2006(Rey Mysterio,The Undertaker,John Cena,Randy Orton and Edge)I think it is time that we get a younger talent winner this year.I have 3 guesses.

1)Wade Barret-The guy has worked his *** off all year long

2)Kofi Kingston,Was promised a title until he met Orton

3)John Morrison,They can do something like HBK's childhood dream

the RR should be won my a new superstar not HHH. like Morrison or someone else.Drew is ok but let him in the wwe 2 more years to win the RR.Drew could win the money in the bank so let his RR victory for later.

BQ:well they should start making unexpected outcomes because is very predictable what will happen in this year RR HHH will return for sure.

I would love to see somebody like Drew McIntyre win but don't think very likely or even Kofi Kingston, Shemaus, John Morrison etc. Need to push new talent from the midcard into world title challenaging postions.

Despite the fact that aspect is my favorite wrestler this years rumble sucked. When the highlights of the night were punk and aspect and each had been only within the rumble for 10 minutes max then it aint a quality exhibit.
