when he debuted in WWE Vince packaged him as Connecticut Blue Blood Hunter Hearst Helmsley as a parody of his CT Neighbors... and HHH more or less Played it like he'd Played Jean Paul Levesque in WCW (w/ less French)
When DX allowed him to be 'himself' he became HHH/Triple H akin to Shawn's Heart Break Kid becoming HBK... occasionally references to his original gimmick still pop up in things like being called 'Hunter' or of course the 'McMahon-Helmsley Era'
