Undertaker vs Sting- While I consider both to be fairly basic brawlers with a very similar style throughout their careers, the Undertaker's more liable to venture outside of the box and try new things, whereas Sting's been doing the same song and dance for over 20 years. The WWE wins this one.
John Cena vs Kurt Angle- Kurt Angle is more legit, more athletic, more agile, and debatably more charismatic than John Cena is, was, or will be. While I consider both to be major work horse talents (Angle to an unhealthy degree), I have more admiration and respect for Kurt. He's a true rounder, and the purest wrestler out there.
HBK and HHH vs Team 3D- This could be construed as a stacked deck either way you look at it. On one hand, Triple H and Michaels are very successful singles competitor who've accomplished more than either member of the Dudley Boyz, BUT Team 3D is the single most decorated tag team of all time, and the only one that can boast being a big deal in three out of four of the most recognized wrestling promotions of the past 20 years. As a tag team, I'd venture to say their star shines just as brightly as either member of the DX faction by themselves, but definitely not as individuals. While Team 3D may not be the star power that is DX, they've got more experience teaming with one another than Trips and HBK do AGAINST one another. If we're going by star power alone though, DX wins by a landslide, but I consider it an unfair comparison considering Triple H and Shawn Michaels aren't even a legit full time tag team, and never really have been, even back in the early days of DX when it was only them they were more prone to singles competiton, and while Team 3D have had a lackluster singles run, few teams measure up to their name and reputation. I'll split this one considering tag wrestling and singles wrestling are two different things, and these four men definitely excell in their respective field.
Edge vs AJ Styles- Styles. Edge may have the charismatic...well, edge, but AJ is the evolution of professional wrestling. If we're going by wrestling alone, AJ wins by a landslide.
Randy Orton vs Booker T- 10 years ago, it might've been a different story, but the WWE wins this round.
The Hardy Boyz vs The Motorcity Machine Guns- Guns. They are better than the Hardys as a tag team and as singles competitors, and by TNA standards, I'd say they've reached the same peak of popularity.
Batista vs Bobby Lashley- I'll give it to Lashley. While I consider both great powerhouse wrestlers, Lashley doesn't need to be coaxed into a watchable match with a big name like Dave seldom does. Neither are that charismatic.
Evan Bourne vs Chris Daniels- This is a tough one. I'd rather you had matched up Styles and Bourne and Daniels and Edge, it would've made more sense, and been more challenging. Daniels has a look, charisma, some great moves, and the best moonsault ever. Bourne has a look, little on the side of charisma, and some of the most innovative offense I've ever seen. Where AJ Styles was the evolution of wrestling, Bourne is the next step. This is a tough one for me though...but I'll say Bourne..but in the overall equation, not by much.
Kane vs Abyss- Abyss...he's more diverse, more intense, and more willing to put his body on the line than Kane has ever been. He gets booked awkwardly these days, but in his heyday, Abyss was a major draw for me when it came to watching TNA.
Chris Jericho vs Samoa Joe- While Joe's an impressive athlete for his size, Jericho may be one of the single most well rounded wrestlers out there. He's got a look, charisma, skill on the mat, skill in the air, and if called for, a little power game as well. Unlike Joe, Jericho's also able to pull off a heel and face role successfully.
Umaga vs Rhino- I've always been inexplicably impressed by Rhino, but not as impressed as I was the first night TNA put a microphone in his hands. Wow, what a surprise, the Man Beast can work the stick! While I admire Umaga's devotion to his character, and his underappreciated ability to put on a really well told bout, I've always been a mark for the Man Beast, and James Storm selling the Gore has simply made me a bigger fan of the Motor City War Machine.
Miz and Morrison vs Beer money inc- A great comparison. I'm going to give this to Beer Money though, because as a tag team (and this is what we're judging on in this category, tag teams) they're definitely more on the same wavelength. While all four men are stupendous on the mic and in the ring, I think Beer Money simply has more to offer on a chemistry level. TNA wins this one
CM punk vs Stevie Richards
I'm a massive Stevie mark, my SN on AIM is still StevieNightHeat(random number I'm not listing), but I'm a Punk fan too. I think they're almost equally matched in the ring to tell you the truth, and even on the stick, but bWo be damned, the Second City Saint CM Punk is definitely the bigger name. Doubl
